God...

I'm very nervous....
I hope everything turns out well tomorrow.
I hope at least I'll know the results somehow by this Friday (though I know it's quite impossible)
I hope things will sort out (in a good way) when Friday comes.

Very nervous, indeed.
Wish me luck. =D

Malacca trip

Hmm… I wrote this post few weeks ago but forgot to post it up… so one Sunday Lynyen and I had a day trip to Malacca.

Woke up in the early morning to get ready.
Testing the camera, haha. Cant even open my eyes...

Since I’ve never hung around Malacca before, we decided to go to the heart of the city where it is a must to visit, the Jonker Street. It wasn’t exactly one street as the name suggests, in fact I think there’re three parts of it. It was connected to other smaller backstreet kind of alleys too. But small shops selling various ornaments and stuffs are everywhere, so you wouldn’t be bored looking around.

The biggest shop in this area must be the Jonker Gallery. Along the 3 or 4 streets that we’ve wandered along, there were like four shops under the name of Jonker Gallery, each selling different types of clothes, accessories, souvenirs etc. They stood out among the rest as the interior was quite nice. =D

We took pics here not bcuz of the batik dresses, but cuz of the interior.

Not exactly the greatest looking blouse, but I just quickly posed with one cuz there's shop assistants strolling around. (I actually prefer the blue-grey one at the back, not that you can see anyway) This part of the shop is like an attic, with steep stairs leading the way up. =D

One of the things that make you feel that you are within a historical city besides the renowned Famosa ruins and churches (and hills and wells bla bla bla) is the architectural design of the old houses that they still retain. Nowadays, most of these houses have been renovated (slightly) and turned into air-conditioned restaurants and shop houses. Some of the old furniture and design became special features that add to the historical atmosphere.

Doesn't it look as if it's under spotlight? It's all natural light.

If you look up from here...

Feels like any minute you might catch a beautiful little Nyonya girl
peeking down with a blushing face.

I wanted to sit there to act as those people in olden days while playing Chinese chess. But I was wearing t-shirt and jeans. Haha...

By the way we missed the Baba Nyonya Heritage museum! We wanted to visit that place since I saw it in Little Nyonya drama, but we both forgot about it haha. But it’s okay, we didn’t have much time anyway. I’ll be there next time!

Talking about next time, I’ll make sure to never go during public holidays again. My goodness, there were so many people that day that even having lunch was a hassle. When you visit Malacca of course must try their famous Chicken Rice Ball ma right, takkan come here to eat western food. But every Chicken Rice Ball restaurant had a LONG line of customers queuing since 12. If you think that the queue will be gone by 2 or 3, think again. You’d probably end up having tea time or early dinner. And so we became part of the barbequed customers waiting under the hot sun.

Honestly, I think the chicken rice were good. Not super delicious to the point it’s worth 45 minutes queue, but it was good. But the atmosphere really affected our appetite lor, with the tauke shouting all the time to appease the impatient customers (still lining outside at 3pm) and taking orders for the next customer. We terus makan and chiao.

And so we took a relaxing afternoon stroll....

Geographer's Cafe.
More like a pub. Despite the look ,its quite well known and is air conditioned. Seems like a good place to stop by, have a drink and relax =D

So as you can see from the pics, the weather's quite cooling and the crowd was smaller here.....NOT.
It's damn hard to take a pic without random strangers walking by every shot.
And check out how bad the jam really was...

Cars stuck in the narrow Jonker streets.
Just never go there during public holidays again, if it's possible.
That day was the first day of Raya.

But overall, it was quite a fun trip, except that I developed major headache from evening onwards. So painful that I missed the mooncake eating party with friends.
But I'm sick of mooncake by now. Lol.

Uncle John

Finally, my piano has been tuned and serviced! I've delayed long enough to do this, that the piano was so out of tune that I didn't even want to play it anymore. It costs RM120, but it's worth every penny to bring back the soul of my dear piano. =D

This can be considered an antique already. It must be at least more than half a century old judging from the inner designs. Thus the sound is distinctly different from the normal Kawai and Yamaha. And I have the mixed love-and-hate feelings for that. 'Cause it sounds too loud and sharp for my liking, but then it's very deep and stands out from average pianos too.

One of my best ways to relief stress. =)

Outburst

“ If you know nothing could u just shut the hell up mum .“
Pause.
“ I’m really tired and I don’t wish to talk further. Good night. “
I dismissed her rudely. I just want to end our conversation before she could hear my voice starts to fumble and crack. It’s a very well known fact to me ( translation : I’m aware the fact that…) that I’m not a filial son, sometimes I’m nothing near to pertaining obedience.Things never changed though I hope they would. I was outraged this evening when I found out one of my friends reading out my student ID number, right after checking out my credit cards.
There’s definitely a fine line between trying to be funny and breaching one’s privacy. If its not bad enough, I witnessed my other friends (all of them actually) quickly reached out for their cellphones , recording my ID number before I managed to retrieve my dignity back. The reason is simple, with one’s ID number you can assess most of his/her results. Does this ring any bell? Kiasunisme.
I was pretty disappointed and of course infuriated that the fact that they seem like hungry fu*king bitches who considered you as a non existent, protruding their cell phones right at your face, rushing to get your ID number. No doubt, some who didn’t reach down for their cells, apparently roll their eyes over, trying hard to reassemble the digits he announced aloud.
I told my mum about this, and the stress I have been struggling through, and she kept saying that I should try to make less enemies and more friends, try to ignore and forgive. And she dare to reaffirm her stand by asking me back isn’t it true that your life will be easier with less enemies.
Mum, do I look that fcking dumb to you, seriously?
Seriously, I feel regretful venting my anger on her, despite I’m 20 , I (supposingly) should be more mature and wise. But come on lah, its annoying to hear you preaching when you don’t comprehend my situation. I’m pretty sad the fact that Harmony is one of those people who starve for success in a spiteful way. I do consider her as a good friend and as a competitor, but never as d biggest sore loser.
Take home lesson today : Trust no one. Everyone’s fcking fake. By the end of the day, all of us would easily pull the trigger on each other’s head if it is what it takes to get us into second year Med or Dent.
Another lesson learnt, most doctors, surgeons and dentists are nowhere near to compassionate. Don’t be fooled by their titles. It takes a lot of filthy tactics to get into the top. And I’m afraid I have to ,too, in order to win this cold cruel race.
I would never trust anyone. Mark my words.

My day today.

"Where arth thou?"
A few seconds later.
" Finding thee ".
I swiftly snugged my cellphone down into my skinny jeans when i saw him standing in the entrance counter.
Getting a gift for a friend for his/her birthday used to be one of those things that i take joy in, i have to admit. But trust me, if u have a string of friends' birthdays in your calendar to catch up on, it spells no joy. It can become frustrating and so, again me and Jono found ourselves in the midst of daze.
Entangled in the hubs of befuddlement, this time, instead of heading straight to d town aimlessly,we did a lil discussion. We planned~! An achievement,
since we have been through 5 birthdays.
Anyway, when we got ourselves into that shop in which we were initially planning to get her some green stationery things as her pressie (nb : green is her fave color), there's something occluding our primary intention. Those stuffs we fiddled with, while 'cruising' from one corner to the far edge, they are all not quite up to our standards.Dissapointing, we, still, got ourselves unsettle in these sort of events.
Finally, we found this shop, nothing special, another typical bookstore...with a small section of toys. And something most brilliant cross Jono's head.He found this figurine of WWE , a bulky muscular 10 inch long toy , showing his varicose veins while in a flexing pose .

He kept giggling and i was trying not to burst into laughter when our minds speak alike. We nodded, implying an agreement. We kept thinking about the consequences of getting this for HER birthday, how we might potentially piss her off, the fact that first she is a girl, a girlie girl tht is, and second, she's korean. We planned to get her that ugly figurine just to dissapoint her and then only present her the birthday cake.Soon, ( i have no idea what have gone into us) we spent hours messing with the other toys, cracking up to the extent that those workers there ,apparently not pleased, find us (mainly me) disturbing.Haha,i know, my laugh...its bad n loud n infectious.Epidemic pandemic endemic. This case, incidence drives prevalence.Lol.
So yea, i had a lot of fun...messing around, joking with Jono the whole day, being childish, like kids in a toy shop. So, we were pretty convinced with
our mischievous plans n bought tht retarded figurine.
And to our surprise, we cant find any nice cakes available in Dunedin, pretty sad aye?Its a shit hole place.Lol.So now, we are stuck with that yucky figurine without the proper gift. This means that we have to go out again tmr...to find one.
( pics are just random XP)
