Emo

Its half past four in the morning now. I woke up today without having any reasons to be awaken. No studying, no reviewing lab reports,no nothing. And then I slowly realise that my room is no longer like my room anymore. Its so foreign, much resemblance to the very first glance of my room the first day i came to Carrington.

Its sad arriving here first day, and definitely sad to leave here on the last. How time has passed, before you know it, everything is gone.To me, its just crudely mould. In a cruel manner.Everything.

All my close friends left, and Carrington, or specifically Stuart house has lost its definition. Its such weird feeling that I cant randomly knock on their door, talk randomly,do study groups, laughed about ridiculous stuffs,do things together.

I miss being annoyed.I miss listening to lame jokes, kiddy talks, and nerdy science-y talks...Haha.

Im just being emo at 4am.

memories

Before your very eyes, you feel like the surroundings start to engulf you, the inner feeling of yours start to swell, and then you begin to dwell into a world of surrealism. Much like the feeling of being phagocytosed, I assumed. One minute, we were all studying so hard, we skipped all meals, laundry times and all possible shower times. Yup, that’s how intense Health Science was. But the very next thing you realise is that finals are finally over, over and done with. With just 3 papers only in this semester, I have no idea why is it still bloody suffocating to handle all these subjects. And yesterday was our last time spending quality time together. Its kinda sad as we could only spend a few ‘true’ hours together, never for once relating our lives to our future career, or say, define our conversation on the basis of our average GPA. Its even more sad for me to think about how things have changed, our friends are all diverging, friendships are no longer as solid as we first met.
Everyone went to their own separate ways, do their own things, creating drama and bitching. And it was a brief night, a night where we sorta have dinner together and then went to do separate things somehow but reunite and do separated things again.Weird aye. And we still are awake till 4am.This morning I have sent them all off. One by one. Sadly, my friend cried. I was real sad too. And I realised most of us feels the same way. We have gone through so many stupid stressful events. She hugged me.
And now, sitting at the same spot, along the very same corridor, where I was a week ago doing my revision for Human anatomy and physiology, but now with a complete turn of event. This floor is so empty, and I cant hardly imagine how solitude a person can be in after such a long time. I was so excited to get back to KL but now its dampened. The fact that my family and friends are back home do make me feel really happy, but the another fact that the place Ive been brought up is pretty fcuked up do turns me off.
Omg...i dunno what am i rambling about...
Its just so weird.Everyone is gone now.SO weird. Everything just happen in a very compressed time frame.Similar to our demographic and epidemiologic transition in an accelerating mode,in the settings of urbanization.SO weird.ANd i miss them.Ironically.I miss hating them too.

hell science is officially over.

I really dislike packing.if its on a large scale.

Its been hell of a long year, and yea, like everyone else im excited about getting it over and done with.

Im not gonna blog much about Health Science and stuffs now…just wanna upload some pics will do.

Trust me, my room was ten times worse than the picture shown.Provides little evidence on how untidy i am. Seriously, during this health sci final season, my whole room was filled with Notes, with post it's and stick up notes all over my wall,4 corner stones.
Im just glad its over now.

Painting with the Colours in the Wind

Could I possibly be the laziest person in the entire AFA course?
Yes.
It is possible.

And I cannot express how much I love Painter of the Wind and Moon Geun Young (the lead actor/actress) by mere words. I think this blogger heejae did a good job in doing the overall review of first episode and you can have a look if u're interested.

Omg, the absolute best korean drama I've seen. (I normally don't do korean dramas)
Great cast, not-your-usual-predictable-plot, beautiful cinematography, very touching ost, vibrant-colored clothing, combined with art.

And applause for Moon Geun Young for her superb acting skills. She's acting as a girl who's pretending to be a guy. And indeed she looked like one (facial expression, voice, the sauntering walking style etc). But when she put on the hanbok (korean traditional dress for female) in epi 15, she looked stunning too.

Not to mention her tears can just naturally flow at the appropriate timing. *salutes*
I love her acting cuz you can feel that she puts in her all into the character, without any reserves. Every emotion is heartfelt and becomes tangible in her interpretation.
Thus the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards and Top Excellence Best Actress Award 2009 she won, definitely well deserved.

Other cast is great in doing their part too.
Like the teacher (acclaimed actor Park Shin Yang) and the other lead actress Moon Chae Won.
In this drama, there is some mystery, politics (still tolerable), art (lots of it ^^), romance (not your usual Korean type, lol ), enlivened with some light humor, and focus is mainly on the teacher-disciple relationship which is rather interesting.

Why I'm writing this and not studying even when I've finished the entire drama yesterday?
Cuz its too good! I cant let it go yet~ =<

That, and that I'm simply lazy~

Internship Hunting #2

Okay. I’ve got my first time of being scolded by a potential employer, before being officially hired. Geng le?

Now this is where problem comes in, when one has no experience with job applications and thus not familiar with the procedures of acceptance and rejection. This is a misunderstanding in communication due to your vague and informal way of confirming people’s acceptance of your offer. Not entirely my fault, you see?

Of course, not clarifying your meaning on the spot is my negligence. Thus my oral and written apologies, and an endurance of your 2-whole-minute scolding.

Be satisfied.

And I’m glad I’ve got a much better offer. =D

Midnight Sun

I was in the mood for a movie yesterday. When browsing the movie list in Mysoju, I tend to choose Japanese over Korean. This stems from my previous experiences that many of the Korean movies are meaningless chic lit sort of romance, which pale next to Japanese movies that usually try to convey some messages through simple yet touching plots. Of course there are exceptions too, but this is the general impression I get.

If you are one of the frequent Mysoju users, you would realize Japanese movies rated with 5 stars are very few. So I decided to take a look at others with lower rates and I found this movie, Taiyou no Uta. I came across this title quite many times, but have dismissed it without another thought due to the not-so-appealing poster design and the “under repair” label. It seems that the movie version, starring famous singer, Yui, was thought as a better interpretation than the drama version by many. So I gave it a try.

It tells the story of a girl who is suffering from this disease, which is allergy to UV rays, and when exposed it could be fatal. Her circumstances therefore explain her nocturnal lifestyle which is the opposite of normal people’s. She sleeps during the day, and lives her life during the night by singing in a deserted town square. (It also amazes me how peaceful is that town in Japan. Though empty, the streets seem pretty safe and brightly lit even if it’s the wee hours. As compared to Malaysia…sigh)

Approaching sunrise, she would be looking out from the window seat of her room, admiring the beginning of a day for most people. Behind the protection of transparent blinds, she began to notice a guy who stops by the vending machine every morning, before heading to the sea for surfing. One is only allowed to taste freedom under the moonlight while another enjoys bathing in sunshine. Two people from entirely different worlds brought together by fate.

To me, it is a really simple story. Once the male lead said before:
“Wow, you’re great. Unlike me, I am just gonna live an ordinary life and die an ordinary death.”

Later in the movie, the female lead expressed that she only wished to live an ordinary life.

This shows that whatever you possess now might just be what someone else are pursuing after, no matter how insignificant or natural they may seem to you. That’s how humans are like, taking many things for granted. Like health, family, love, and in this case, even the mere capability of enjoying the sunshine. We haven’t lost it, thus we wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate having it. That’s why movies like these serve as a brief reminder, for us to stop and reflect. (I mention brief because I’m sure that after awhile, we’ll return to our humanity and taking everything for granted again. Lol)

Like I said, it’s a simple story, but with great songs and cinematographic scenes. Since the main character is a singer, she sings really well. So if you like simple plots and you have the time to sit back and enjoy, this can be a good film. And if you do intend to watch this, I would advise against checking out the trailer first. After all, simple plots can be fully revealed through mere 30 or so seconds.

Martha's Black & White Party

Smile ladies~

Martha ~!!!
Blowing off the candles.

Attended Martha (fren/floormate) birthday bash.Black and white themed party.Pretty neat aye~

Effing Asians.

Had 2 shots, 2 jugs of beer and 2 glasses of vodka lime. XD

Grown up boy d lah my dear pal here.

i feel disturbed.

I got my results last week, got really depressed, shut myself from almost everything...
Skipped breakfast, lunch and dinner...I tried multiple ways to put my focus on my upcoming term test (human anatomy n physio) the coming week after. (which just ended today).
And guess wat...
Im not that depressed anymore...it only adheres to me ...for like 2 days...until i saw something damn disturbing.I was trying hard to keep my mind off, listening to musics, having a stroll around the hilly areas at night etc.
But on one 'faithful' night, i logged on to facebook...n had a chat with my senior, 3rd year Med.She recalled that I once told her that I really wanna be a plastic surgeon. And she just nonchalantly, gave me a youtube link. And then she flicked me a text, asking me how do u fix that mess.
Im like...what mess? And she just replied go watch that video.
So Im being all but nothing near to my logical sense watch a video ENTITLED most horrific video at 2 am at night in my room.Lemme unfold the documentary/video recorded surgery she sent me...
First it was this part with some arabic words and something written in English...Cant recalled, i think it was talking about Meninges (fibrous connective tissue wrapping our brain).
Then, it starts showing a few teenage guys playfully jumping off the edge, diving into a pool.Realising there is a flat surface (concrete) right below the edge, I already guessed that one of those guys will land on the ground instead of the large body of fluid.
Ok , i nailed that part right,so he was floating , facing down, bleeding profusely....haemorrhage...
Fine,I thought to myself, not that gory , either he is dead or he is just seriously damaged...brain dead.
The next scene was the most horrendous...The surgeons recorded the video of that boy with his face...no... his head split into halves...Disgusting enough, the surgeon had to use both of his hands on either side of his face to support them from collapsing. The cut was aligned on the medial part of his face (much like u chopping a watermelon in the midline and trying to stick it back to a spehere).Worse thing is ,he is still alive.SO you get to witness how he was choking with his own blood, his eyeballs rolling, him shaking, having great diffuclties in breathing, bleeding profusely...to the extent that ...its just not right.
It is very (i assured you) disgusting,Im really bad in describing...but u can just see the interior of his head...
SO, i cant sleep...for that night. And the next night too...I mean, seriously, firstly Im Edmund (see who are u dealing with, please), and me being egoistic all the while thinking I can handle almost allllllll disgusting stuffs... I love wathcing Saw...n stuffs...hahaha but that is one sick gory video.
I threw up a few times...accounting for metabolic alkalosis.Dehydrated the next day, and then only replenished a few days after.
Therefore, Im all good now, still a lil traumatised, but at least I got my mind off from my results.
Maybe God is somehow sending me a message, Im just not meant to be in the fit of surgical line.
I made out alive in one cut but perhaps not the next. Thus, its better for me to realise it earlier.
Now Im just irritated that I cant described how disgusting it is...but seriously,it is.I know most of you out there would be like..." Im so much better than this dude, lil of freak accidents oso scared... "
urgh, wateva lah.another crap post.Oh ya, btw i found out my med friend (the one who gave me the linked) cried and ALSO threw up watching it for the first time...Haha, u r a bigger puss than me.
Babi...tricked me.See la...

Thank God!

That everything seemed to turn out well.
That what I'm worried of did not occur afterall.
(must start reading financial news, I promise! At least glancing through will do)

That I met a very friendly interviewer, Ivo. =D

And now, I'll have to do some preparation for tomorrow...
