Hanmer Springs

Hanmer Spring is a small town in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is located inland, 65 kilometres southwest from Kaikoura, on a minor road 10 kilometres north of State Highway 7, the northern route between Christchurch and the West Coast via Lewis Pass.Built around a popular hot spring (which me and my friends planned this trip mainly due to this reason few months back) which was discovered back in 19th century.
We were told that this famous tourist place swells greatly during the holidays, but we managed to relax and spend some lesiure time during the weekdays, cause ,simply, its the uni break, not school holidays. So its peaceful and quiet then.
The town has a scenic airline to show off its alpine surroundings, as well as a variety of adventure activities such as bungee jumping, mountain biking and bush walks. The town accomodates an average of 700 + residents,so basically its established as a holiday town.During summer months travellers can follow gravel roads through the beautiful Rainbow Valley to St Arnaud and the Nelson Lakes National Park, and through stunning Molesworth Station to Blenheim, Picton and the Marlborough region

sorry if i bore u with Hanmer S.Frankly, its the people tht u are going with that makes it essentially memorable.More pics to be uploaded soon...
